The lil details

This is the desk in the background is a flower arrangement I did. I know it does not look complicated but it seriously took a long time to make it look like that. The gorgeous vase was etched by my very special and artistic sister-in-law, Heather! It's actually the first thing you see as you open the front door and head up the stairs.

And here is a close up of it from the otherside.

This is the latest on the living room... We have purchased furniture but it has not yet been delivered. However I have been shopping at Pier 1 and found the vase and the candles.

And of course we need a close up of the arrangement I did. It also looks simple but was quite tedious!

Continued Progress ....

Decorating is my absolute favorite part!! Unfortunately it takes money. But I have each room planned and I am slowly making them what I want. So here is our bedroom. The bed is missing two pillows because i haven't found anything to work in the Euro shams whatever that means.

This is the dining room table Mark's wonderful parents passed on to us. I love it!! And the festive fourth of july table runner was handmade by one of my very special grandmothers!!! Luckily I found it in a box the day before the 4th!!
This is the imagination room!! The futon cover really helped out the ol' futon! And I absolutely love the pillows me, my madre, and grandma made!! Good work ladies!
And this is the desk my amazing husband put together! He did such an awsome job! And we only had to go to the ER once during the process. But don't worry thankfully nothing but his pride was seriously injured when he drilled through his finger!! lol!
This is one of the pictures we got at a sale at kohls!! Yeah for sales!! Any way I am going to cover the bulliton board with fabric and ribbon one of these days!
Well that's the latest in my decorating!!! I hope you enjoyed!

This is the kitchen & you can kind of see the laundry room... As you can see, I have plenty of dishes to wash!

This is our family room

Here is our bedroom, and yes the Michigan blanket is our bed for the first few nights!

This is the bathroom! I decided to start putting stuff away in there first because it is the smallest room!

Moving Madness

Well as you may know, Mark and I planned to return from our honeymoon and then move to our new home the next day. Prior to leaving my parent's home, we had a small gathering to open a few wedding gifts and cards. Everything was going as planned until Mark got sick. At one point we tried to get in the car to leave and Mark literally sat down in the car and jumped up running to the bathroom. We finally realized plans had to be changed as Mark would not be comfortable during the looooong ride. I spent the rest of the day practicing my nursing skills. Finally we left the following morning bright and early. It was quite an interesting ride as our car was crammed full and Mark was still not feeling a 100%, but we made it :)

The Honeymoon

Our honeymoon is of course something we will always remember. First I will briefly run through the amazing parts. 1) The resort was unbelievable. It had so much to offer as far as things to do: pools, ocean beach, water sports, ping pong, obstacle course, dance lessons, spa, rock wall, clubs, entertainment, etc. 2) Our room was amazing: jacuzzi, hammock, snack & drink bar! 3). So much to do: swim with the dolphins, Mayan Ruins, Paradise snorkling, Jack Nicklaus golf course....
Now for the craziness: After arriving at the resort, we realized Mark's wallet was missing. The last place we had it was at the Miami airport. After a minor panic and frantic search, we decided it would be awfully costly to make calls to the US to cancel the missing credit cards. We decide to see if we can get help from the resort...thankfully the public relations desk met all of our needs and we were able to spend many hours on the phone canceling the cards without a single charge to us. We were extremely happy to have canceled the cards and they even were sending us an emergency credit card to our resort. Well...the mid week the card had not shown up, and we begin to worry we would be unable to pay for some of the extras we wanted to do (golf) After much prayer, the Lord provided me with an answer, I would call my credit card company and have the limit increased. Thankfully this worked and we were able to enjoy the rest of our time there. On the way back, we had a few bumps in the road. At our layover in Miami we were informed us along with two other people would not be allowed to board the plane because weather was causing for a need to decrease the weight of the plane. 39 people were supposed to be on the plane but they were cutting it to 35 and we were chosen at random. After the plane was boarded, they allowed the other two people to board and told us to wait. They then drove us to the plane on a bus where we were told to wait to see if after the plane was loaded the pilot would allow us to board. I stood by the plane making the saddest eyes to the pilot who eventually allowed us to board. Once we arrived at our final destination, we waited for our luggage and guess what>>> Mark's luggage was missing along with 10 other people's. We then had to file a claim. After a long line and much waiting to fill out the form we were finally on our way and then at my parent's home at 3:30 a.m. Ugh!

The BIG day!!

Basically it was AMAZING! I had so much fun and could not be happier! Everything looked beautiful (thanks mom and dad for all your work & money) The reception was a blast thanks to all my friend who like to get down with it! And I married the most Wonderful man alive!!!

Before the BIG Day!!!

I have the most amazing bridesmaids and friends! On thursday before the big day! Jasmine picked me up and we headed to the salon where we met up with the rest of the gang (Angela, Ashley, & Megan) At the salon we got our nails done then we headed to our hotel. We had a lot of fun goofing off in our room. Later we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Angela ordered a margarita but after two sips she thought she had too much and complained of her arms being extremely heavy. haha!

After dinner we played gestures at the hotel. We also hung out beside the pool. The pool had this sign of rules which we found hysterical! Especially rule number 1. We also got to listen to Mark on ESPN radio with the Wizards. They interviewed him during the game and at the end he gave a little shout out to me! It was sooo SWEET!!

Sarah then joined us! We thought it would be funny to have her sneak in the window. So we told her she had to because we didn't want to get caught with too many in our room! :) Sleeping was a little difficult as Ang, Jas, and I shared one bed, but we managed to get some zzzzzzzz'sThe next morning we went to Starbucks for some coffee. Then my amazing girls helped me set up the church for the wedding. We then went to my house to get ready for the rehearsal and dinner. The rehearsal did not go as smoothly as I would have liked. We ran into a few problems but everything worked out in the end!!
